How Does Red Light Therapy Stop Hair Loss?
Red light therapy uses specific wavelengths of light (630–670nm) to penetrate the scalp and stimulate cellular activity in hair follicles — a process called photobiomodulation (PBM).
The light increases microcirculation in the scalp, delivers more oxygen and nutrients to follicles, and stimulates follicles in the anagen (active growth) phase. It cannot grow hair in areas where follicles no longer exist — but it is highly effective at slowing loss and thickening existing hair.
